TUNNEL DU MALPAS

A problem arises for Riquet. How to by-pass the Ensérune mountain . Stubborn and in spite of the reluctance of Colbert, he undertakes the digging of a tunnel through the sandy hill. Nobody believes it can be done. Listening to no one, he completes the work and creates a very modern 168m-long work of art.
